The Gunpowder Plot (1605)

In 1605 a group of Catholics, including Guy Fawkes, plotted to kill the Protestant King James I by blowing up the Houses of Parliament. The plot failed and Guy Fawkes was caught guarding the gunpowder beneath Parliament.
